Full Name: Penelope Daylynn Dalton
Age: Seventeen.
Height: 5'4"
Weight: 125 lbs
Body Description:
Penelope’s physique can be described in one word: “round”. A regular Bridget Jones, if you will. Though she’s no Jayne Mansfield, she certainly has an hour glass figure with a smaller waistline, larger hips, and (unlike many of today’s celebrities) an ample chest. She’s very petite, short slender arms, tiny hands…this isn’t too be confused with saying that she is svelte, but petite would be an accurate term.
Her skin is a milky white, not a pallid or sullen tone, fair but healthy. Occasionally she’ll sport a tan, but it doesn’t fit her well, but there are times when she can pull it off. Her hair is a dark brown, so dark in fact, its incessantly mistaken for black. But no worries, she makes sure that people get their “facts straight”.
Her mother always told her it was brown, and there for no matter what anyone says: it’s brown. She eyes to match, though not as ostentatiously dark. According to her, her eyes are “four shades lighter” than her hair. Though the color might not be ostentatious, the size borders upon that. It seems to be her best feature, besides her smile. But we all know that her mother put on a new wing of her orthodontist’s house for that.
Background (Family/Heritage/Life Tragedies):
Penelope Dalton, an enigma of joy. It seems to be she does everything in her power to make everyone else’s life “magical”. Volunteering at hospitals, doing Christmas specials with her closest friend and brother, Victor (and lest we not forget their ever so infamous PSAs on Kwanza. Who can forget Kwanza, after all?) – even going as far as traveling to Brazil to preach the word of the Lord Almighty… she devotes a majority of her time to helping others. Her dedication to doing things for the good of others has made such an impact, in her hometown of Salt Lake City, Utah, she’s a celebrity. Granted, there she also does the holiday special on PBS, but it’s for a good cause none the less.
In retrospect, whatever celebrity she has acquired is because of the holiday season. Christmas has become such a large part of her life, her peers joke that it is one of her hobbies. Her whole year, for the most part, is centered on preparing for Christmas. Not to say she over looks other holidays, but Christmas is the center of her universe for lack of better phraseology. It has become some integrated into her daily routine, primarily; her discussions are about what she’s doing for Christmas. That or her brother, but he is her “partner in crime” in many of the things she does for the holiday.
She’s, needless to say, a very wholesome girl. She grew up in the quintessence of everyon’es “Utah dream home” in Salt Lake City, with a strong Mormon upbringing and six brothers and sisters. Nothing else but “wholesome” would be expected, would it? Her demeanor, with the combination of her lifestyle and family, is inevitable. Out of her six brothers and sisters, she and her brother Victor (being only nine months apart) are the closest pair out of them all. They’re in the middle, the second to oldest in the bunch, the oldest sibling being Jerald-Bryton newly twenty-two and in college.
Her mother being busy with a myriad of other things (whether it’s QVC – she sells dolls and a few “essential” appliances, the church, or the upcoming careers of her other children (her youngest, Ava is the latest spokesperson for Welch’s Grape Juice)), when Penny is home she takes on the role of mother. Unfortunately for her brother Victor, because he is home most often, he takes on the role of “mother” more than Penelope could be. Their father is involved, but only as much as a working father could be.
They’re a busy family, there’s no doubt about that.
Penelope hopes (or more accurately, her doting parents) that one day she can achieve stardom in singing. Perhaps she could even spread a gospel message, in doing so. She is already well on her way, with Victor. Her brothers (Victor included), are more widespread than she is, appearing on TV quite frequently, actually. She is the least known of her siblings, but she’ll work her way up. And if she fails to do so on talent alone… Nepotism always works, doesn’t it?
Personality:
Penelope can be described as cheery, and more often than not jolly. She’s even gotten “bubbly” a few times, though even she is a bit reluctant believing so. Sometimes her attitude towards things seems a little “too good to be true”, and well, it is. She’s human, among many others who walk the planet and she has many human attributes. She isn’t always happy, nor is she always kind. She can be very spiteful at times, if not mean spirited.
Role Playing Example:
“What do we do for Christmas? Well that’s a silly question! We do what any one would do! We have a big supper on Christmas Eve, and on Christmas morning…We open our gifts, and I sure hope that my family sure liked the things I picked out for them. Usually, on Christmas, my sister and I-“
“We go on the public broad casting station and sing some Coventry carols. You can call in and make donations…they go to Whitehall Retirement Home.”
There was never a dull moment with Penny and Victor Dalton, not one. Why, they were an enigma joy, with a smile on their faces perpetually. They were benevolent in every which way, they aided those in need, they guided those who had found themselves off track – they were the quintessence of what every good Mormon boy and girl should be. They were a reincarnation of everything that everyone wanted to forget in 1976, too.
They were both the essence of the holiday season, from the (aforementioned) grin on their faces, to their matching red Rudolph vests. Of course their keenness towards Christmas didn’t end with the vest. Oh no, their whole ensemble was dedicated to spreading the delight of the holidays. More than fitting green sweaters adorned their torsos, a just as blissful depiction of Santa Clause in the center.
Nothing goes better with a knit green sweater and red vest than khaki corduroy pants, and nothing quite says Christmas like corduroy either. Especially if the corduroy pants had sewn in turtle-doves on the front pockets. And so that’s what Victor wore, naturally Penny wearing something nearly the same. Except, hers was a quaint skirt that fell just below her knees. Victor’s pants seemed to be the tiniest bit short, as they exposed red stockinette socks (with just ever-so festive candy canes knit in on each side) that seemed to be the tiniest bit too long.
Their shoes were the icing on the cake. Victor had suede penny loafers, and instead as putting in a penny for good luck – he put in charms. Christmas trees, naturally. There was quite a story that came along with those charms, but that might take a whole Christmas special to explain. And maybe even a public service announcement about Kwanza. As for Penny, she wore suede Mary Janes, that couldn’t have been more infantile – uh, festive.
Their outfits aside though, taking a look at their faces you knew they were jolly – to say the least – people. From their smiles that would give one the impression that they had gotten veneers (which they certainly did not, a good friend of their father’s happened to be an orthodontist), to their round faces, to their brown almond shaped eyes that always seemed to be gleaming…you knew that they was cheery. You also might have garnered the impression that they were destined to quite a few years of therapy, and possibly had an overbearing mother – but don’t we all.
“Thank you for your time Vicky. Do you mind if I call you Vicky? It seems appropriate.” the sarcasm in the words of the host of the morning radio show they were appearing on were almost a bit cutting. But Penny and Vicky were invited to come on the show, and so they came, and kept smiles on their faces.
“Oh, that’s what my sister calls me. Go ahead. Have a merry Christmas!”
“Have a Merry Christmas! It was a pleasure to be on the show!”
