Lilia looked around the empty room. It was large, containing around ten or so beds. She was used to sharing with other people, so it was no shock. She looked along the rows of beds with her large brown eyes until she spotted an empty one; her one. She pulled her slightly battered suitcase along the floor and left it at the foot, sitting down on the bed. She yawned and opened her backpack.
From it, she took her most prized possessions. A letter from her parents, political prisoners in Russia, probably destined never to see the light of day again. It was dated a few years back, as they had been unable to write to her. Or at least, that was what she hoped. She prayed that they weren't dead, but she would never be informed if they were. She was only their daughter, she hadn't a right to know, in the eyes of the government.
She also took out several pairs of shoes. However, these were no ordinary shoes. They were her dance shoes, the most important things in her life. If she didn't have dancing, she wouldn't be who she was. First she laid out her ballet shoes; soft, pink leather, worn, but still in excellent condition. Then she took her ballroom shoes; gold, high-heeled and very special. Finally her latin ones; almost the same as ballroom, with some subtle differences.
She lay against the pillow, her shoes in a neat line on the bed in front of her. She smiled, the rest of her luggage yet to be unpacked. "This place could become home," she said quietly, in her slightly accented English.

Jude knocked courteously on the dorm room door, but then barged in purely out of excitement. Stifling her spirited giggles, she dropped her fine leather suitcases and glanced at the girl by a bed, unpacking her belongings. She seemed pretty ordinary. This excited Jude even more. The GAA would be a getaway from the only life she'd known. This was reality with real people and events. The thought of never walking on the red carpet again made Jude's spine shiver. She couldn't wait to begin her new life. Oh, my! You must be uh... Who are you? Jude began. Her boots were killing her at that moment so as she waited for a response, she dragged her luggage and expensive plaid carry-on to a nearby bed. Cover Girl Status

Lilia closed her eyes. She was tired; she had had a long journey, and now she wanted some quiet. She pulled out the hairband securing her long dark hair and shook it out, it falling on her shoulders. She jumped at a knock on the dormroom door. She looked up to see another girl, about her age, walk into the room. Lilia could tell immediately that she was rich, much richer than her. But somehow, that didn't bother her, it didn't intimidate her as it might have done once. She had been comfortable at home, but she had had nothing since being shipped here. She was happy with what she had, and would never wish for more. "Hello. My name is Lilia. Are you new too?" she asked.

Why, yes I am. I'm Khassendra Jude Skyler. You probably know me. She glanced away. I'm how you say famous. She laughed elegantly, her reddened hair cascading over her shoulders. Charmé! Then realizing the girl probably didn't speak French she replied, Oh, it's French for "charmed." So, I guess we're roomies.

Lilia smiled, but shook her head. "Sorry. I do not know much famous people here. But it is nice to meet you," she said, looking up at the girl from under her dark lashes, and then looking back at her dancing shoes. "I am Russian, and I have only just learn the English. It is difficult. Are you French?" She giggled, more of her normal personality coming through. "What is a roomie?"

Jude could practically feel her jaw dragging on the floor. She didn't believe it! This girl was a total martian. She didn't even know who the Skylers were. For the first time ever, Jude liked the feeling of just being normal. She suddenly had the craziest idea to take this girl under her wing. My mom speaks French all the time. Maybe I can teach it to you sometime. She set herself on her bed and took her shades off the top of her head. I really couldn't tell you how hard English is. After all I've spoke it all my life. She laughed. And yes you bunk with me, so you're my roomie. So much to learn. So little time.

Lilia shrugged. "Russia doesn't like famous people from other place much," she said, smiling her warm smile. "I would like that. I do not know any French. I speak Russian and English only." She laughed. "Maybe I can teach you Russian. But it is hard, because there is another letters to learn, so maybe not." She looked over at the girl. She seemed nice. "Bunk? Is that like stay, in this room?"

Yes, that's exactly what it is. Her Russian accent was incredibly strong. Jude imagined the girl speaking like a true American in a couple months with her help.

[ooc: No prob!]
Lilia smiled. "What do you do, like I dance?" she asked, gesturing towards the row of shoes on her bed. She did nothing but dance. It was her life. The only regret she had about this place was that she would not have a proper dance partner, as it was a girls' school. In fact, thinking about it, she wondered how they would manage with no partners.

[OCC: I'm trying to figure out the ballroom at an all-girls school too. Lol]
Me? I'm a triple threat. I dance, sing, and act. Actually, my entire family does. That's where that whole being famous thing comes. I released an album a ways back. She was starting to feel awkward again so she changed subjects. But it's nothing serious...

[ooc: Lol...maybe it should turn co-ed...except that would defeat the object lol. I'll have a think for you ;-)]
"What sort of dance?" Lilia asked, interested. She was interested in anything to do with dancing. "I would like to sing, and I might take act lessons," she continued. "An album? Like, songs? That is, uh, cool." She smiled.
Standing up, revealing all of her grand height of five foot two, she walked to the end of the bed and picked up her suitcase, placing it on the bed. "How old are you?" she asked, opening the worn zip and beginning to unpack her possessions.
[ooc: Okies.]

I'm 14 and I'm capable of doing all forms of dance. It's in my blood, actually. She threw her leather boots off into the middle of the floor and lugged her duffles onto the bed Lilia was unpacking on so she could unpack beside her. Hastily, she unzipped one of her Louis Vuitton bags and pulled out her diary, an expensive camera, and a mound of PostIts. Taking a pink sticky note and messily writing "Khassendra Jude Skyler" onto it, she explained, I'm labeling all my stuff. Mm kay?

Lilia smiled. "I am fourteen also," she said, picking up her shoes and putting them in the locker by her bed. "I do ballet, tap, ballroom and latin," she said. "My mother was a dancer when she were young, and my father went to dances when he was young also. I do many competitions, and I try to become professional when I is fifteen or sixteen." She smiled again, moving over so Khassendra had room to unpack too. "Okay. Should I do that also? Only I don't have anything expensive," she asked.

I just use them to remind people to keep their paws off my things. She hadn't mean to snap at the girl. In fact, the tone in her voice surprised herself. But back at home, there had been so many kids and sometimes Jude only wanted a space for herself where she could have some alone time, where nobody would be near her and messing with her belongings.
It was weird, she knew. On occasion, Jude even had meltdowns when there were too many people around her sheltered "bubble". She minded her tongue as she handed Lila a packet of Post-It Notes. You can have some. She smiled sweetly, hoping Lilia didn't notice her attitude.

Lilia almost jumped at the sound of Jude's voice. She busied herself in unpacking her belongings, storing them neatly in her locker, before zipping up the suitcase and pushing it under the bed. "Okay," she said, shrugging. Everyone needed their own space, she knew that, and it couldn't be easy sharing with this many people.
Lilia smiled. "Thank you," she said, looking at the post-it notes. "But it is okay. I can manage, thank you." She handed them back to Jude with a slight twinkle in her eye, not commenting on the tone of Jude's voice.

Happy that Lilia hadn't noticed her slight mishap, Jude suggested something fun to do. I bought a cocktail maker with me, just for fun, you know? Want me to whip us up some strawberry daiquiris? The idea of a luau inside the dreary, cold quarters of Girls Dorm B came to her mind. She quickly stifled the thought. She didn't want to go overboard. Ah no.. She'd wait until they were fully acquainted before she went "Party Girl" on her.
To assure Lilia she wasn't completely crazy, Jude added the logical statement, That is, after we finish packing though. Waiting for a response, she placed her delicate hands on her curvy hips and gave a pouty face and then raising her eyebrows. Well? What do you say?

Lilia frowned, not understanding all the words. She nodded slowly, shutting her locker and trying to translate. "Um, yes, fun is good," she said, sitting on the side of the bed, crossing her legs. She needed something to do once she had unpacked, this place seemed quite cold and the whole building had the feeling of dreariness, and something was definitely required to lighten it up.
Lilia giggled at Jude's face. "Yes, alright, it sounds good," she said, standing up and looking up at Jude (she was much taller than Lilia). "I am finished unpacking. Do you need help?" she asked, smiling.

A genuine laugh escaped her glossy lips. How easy it was to get her way! What could she say? She'd spent her whole life doing it. She's a total pro at getting everything she wanted- or at least to doing anything she wanted to do. She quickly moved to her bed, slipping in her socks. Her tanned fingers pulls out a rather large white box from an unopened suitcase and without a moment to guess what the object inside was, Jude yanked an appliance out of it that was similar to a blender.
Dumping the cocktail mixes from the bottom of the box, she thought about the other girls that were coming today. She loved the thought of adopting this foreign girl but wonders if whether there were other rich, high class girls like her at the GAA began to linger in her mind. No matter. I'll finish unpacking later. Right now, I'm dying for that daiquiri! Then another thought came to mind. Damn, I don't have any ice! She slapped her forehead. Want to come help me look for some?

Lilia smiled. To some, she might seem that she was submissive and didn't have a mind of her own, but this was not the case. She was a very strong-willed girl, had even been called a minx, in a friendly way, but was just finding her feet at a new place so different from her home. If there was someone who knew knew her own mind, Lilia was that person. She was very determined and liked doing things that she wanted to do. However, she wanted to learn more about society here, and get used to life before becoming headstrong.
She nodded. "Okay," she said agreeably, standing up again and running a hand through her long hair. "Ice? I help look. Maybe in the kitchen?" she suggested, smiling.

Super. OK, let's go then. Her eyes glowed with mischief. She really did need ice for the tails, but she planned to use this perfect opportunity as a chance to explore the other dorms. Slipping her boots back on, Jude did a quick mirror check, flashing a smile that revealed her broad cheekbones and twirling around to check her pants and shirt. Just for kicks, Jude looked inside her tail maker box and pull out a container that could be used to hold the ice that she was positive she wouldn't be getting anytime soon. Giving a quick toss of her head in the door's direction, Jude headed for the door. She stopped after yanking it open, waiting for Lilia. ((OCC: I'm posting in Girls Dorm C if Lilia wishes to follow! ))

Lilia nodded. "Okay, one minute," she said, slipping her small feet into the shoes she had taken off earlier, and slipping a headscarf over her hair, one that matched her skirt. She shut her locker and straightened the cover on her bed before walking towards the door. "Ready," she said, smiling.

Let's hit it! Jude stated, enthusiastically. It was a phrase her father and her had always said when they were about to go somewhere special. She was aware that Lilia only thought they were getting ice, but little did she know that Jude was 100 percent ready for an adventure. She smiled when Lilia came to her side and then they left together.
