Aurora C. Kenward sighed as she set down her suit case, purse, book bag, and dance bag on the floor beside the only obviously empty bed. Letting out her breath, she sat down next to her stuff. The bed let out a squealing creak, but held. She had been on a plane from Canada since 4 am that morning, and then the three hour delay changing planes. Thank goodness she had her dance bag as a carry on, because she used the time to practice pointe in the waiting area.
Now she could finially read her letter from her brother, Alex.
Hey, Aurora!
It's been so long since I wrote, I have missed it. How are you? I have been doing well enough. Houston Ballet auditions for Romeo and Juliet were this morning. I did really well, and I think I might get a part! Also, I've......met a girl. Don't roll your eyes, you know you want to know more.
Aurora laughed as she caught herself rolling her eyes.
She's fourteen, and very pretty - not to mention a good dancer! In fact, I'd dare to compare her to your majesty. She's Cuban, and has the sweetest voice you ever heard. My friend and roomate, Even, says that she's been talking about my own voice in the dressing room (don't ask how he's been getting in there, I don't even want to know!). I swear, I never remember this damned Irish accent. And then someone points it out and it takes me a minute to remember. Even, by the way, is in love with the picture of you which I have pinned up on our wall. So he's comming to our house for Winter break to meet you. Just thought I'd warn you.
But we both have things we need to do besides reading or writing a letter. Much love,
Alex
Aurora laughed out loud at her brother's funny way of writing, and was putting the letter back in it's envelope when she felt someone's eyes on her. She looked up.
