It's only human to never be satisfied.
Daphne Reese had never been forced to do anything she didn't want to. At the time, her mother's choice in sending her to the GAA was mutually agreed upon. Her parents had worked so hard in raising money for Daphne. There was a coin box in the church and Daphne even took up jobs babysitting neighbors and at the malt shop in town. But now she was actually here in an empty immaculate dorm room at her new boarding school. Her hazel eyes glanced around the room with its mahogany bunks, spotless bedsheets, and large bulletin board. And despite all this, Daphne's heart pained for her home back in Oahu and all her friends. Her entire plane trip had been spent crying and flipping through the pages of the scrapbook Karina gave her at her going away luau. She didn't belong here. These boarders were high class rich girls. And Daphne didn't have two dimes in her jean pocket to rub together. Sadly she picked the bunk nearest the window so she could gaze out of it when she pleased despite the dull scenery of dead winter trees. As she zipped open her duffle, the leis that were draped from her neck hung down into the bag, some of them getting caught in the zipper. She hastily yanked them off as tears flowed tear her tanned cheeks.

"Ick, this is where we're supposed to live?" Analiese said in mild disgust as she entered Girl's Dorm C, her voice baring a distinct English accent. "Buckingham Palace to this...go figure." she muttered as she walked further inside of the area, trailing her dark brown signature design Coach luggage in her left hand and her matching Coach dog carrier tote over her opposite shoulder with her italian greyhound puppy, Roxton, peeking his head out to look around as well.
As she walked into the dorm further, she noticed another female seated upon a bunk bed. "Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't notice you there." she said to the female in a slightly apologetic tone. "I'm Analiese Ward." she introduced herself, being uncharacteristically forward.
Analiese was dressed semi-casual today. A pair of Diesel jeans hungs relatively loosely around her protruding hipbones met by a brown Lauren by Ralph Lauren wool crew neck sweater with a large gold crext embroidered on the front and 3 bottons on the left shoulder. A pair of Diesel akita sneakers in color mocha/mint covered her feet in a casual fashion. A creme colored pashmina scarf was around her neck and a brown tweed BCBG max azria knee legnth coat trimmed in fur covered her attire. It was obvious she had just come inside from the outside cold by her outfit and the slight flush in her cheeks.. Her light brown locks were curled and hanging down to frame her face. Her honey brown eyes were lined in dark brown liner, her face lightly powdered, and her pouty lips were covered in light pink gloss.
"By the way, this is Roxton." she said, setting her luggage down and pulling her italian greyhound puppy out of her designer carrying bag. She clipped his red leather trimmed signature print dog leash onto his matching collar and let him on the ground so he could watch around, keeping the leash end wrapped around her wrist.

I'm Daphne, She replied, managing a slight smile in the girl's direction. Feeling a tad embarrassed about the state she was in, Daphne quickly wiped the remaining tears off her face and yanked off the many leis that were dangling from her neck. She tried to tidy up, dusting off her navy sweatshirt from her old Oahu middle school. Biting her lip, she adjusted her jeans and slipped off her Keds. Taking the attention off herself, she glanced at the devon aire pooch trotting around the dorm. Are dogs even allowed in here? Putting her hair behind her eyes, she raised an eyebrow.

Analiese pushed her things over to a bunk near Daphne. She unzipped one of her three large suitcases, pushing the two smaller ones ot the side, and began to unpack her casual clothing, which is what happened to be in the suitcase she opened first.
"Does it really matter? It's not like Roxton is a bother. He's very well behaved." she explained, tugging on the dog's leash lightly so he would come back towards her. She scooped him up and palced him on top of her bunk where he laid down.
"So where are you from, Daphne?" she asked. She wasn't exactly an expert on making friends, but she didn't know anyone at this school, so she was have to be friendly and forward...at least until she got to know a few people.

Deciding already that the first girl she'd met at GAA was a total snob, Daphne pretended to be uninterested. She even poked some fun at her, putting on a dreadful British accent. Oh, I grew up on Oahu, Hawaii's premiere resort and vacation spot. No biggie, right? Turning back to her duffel, she took out her beloved scrapbook and a framed picture of her youth grade friends. And what about yourself, ummm... Analiese, is it? She was getting pretty good at being British.

"Oh, Hawaii? I've never been, but I've heard that it's very nice there." she said, pretending not to notice the horribly broken accent. It seemed as if Daphne was mocking. What? Analiese had been nothing but nice..well, hostile. She hadn't poked fun at her flower necklace things, her school sweatshirt, or her Keds sneakers and she had clearly had the opportunity.
"Yes. I'm from England...obviously." she said with a light giggle. "My parents moved to the U.S. when I was younger, but they kept me in boarding schools in England. I just recently decided to come here. I started modeling as a child and I'm a musician so I figured, what better place?" he said, trying to be modest. But honestly, fame was a hard thing to be modest about. Analiese had etiquette pounded into her brain since she was born, she knew how to handle the current situation. "You know, if you're working on dialects, I can help you with your English accent." she offered with a smile.

Suddenly feeling awkward about being rude, Daphne shifted her weight onto another leg. I'm uhhh sorry about that. She looked out of the window and noticed it was flurrying. Making an attempt to change the subject, she bounced onto her bed and put her hands up to the frosted window. Oh my god it's snowing.
It was at this moment that Daphne looked at the reflection of Analiese in the glass. Her flightiness had gotten the best of her again. She'd spoke impulsively and was rude to a complete stranger. This wasn't her true personality and was surely a sad attempt in making a friendship.

"Don't worry about it." she replied, as she began to seperate her casual suitcase into tops and bottoms on the bunk bed that was now hers. At the mention of snow, Analiese turned her head towards the window. Yes, it was snowing. Analiese traveled often, so snow was nothing spectaculur to her. In fact, she had come to hate snow. It was too wet and too cold. It ruined her clothing. However, she respected the fact that since Daphne was from Hawaii, she had probably never experienced snow before or had rarely experienced it.
"Have you ever seen snow?" she asked, then realized how condescending she must've sounded. "I mean, you lived in Hawaii right? It doesn't snow there, does it?" she added.

I haven't actually. Daphne said, turning back to the girl. I love the beauty of it. Just not the cold feeling. She shivered at the thought. I heard England can be cold. Leaping off the bed, she began to walk around the room, studying it. Walking around, she didn't realize she'd reached Analiese's bed. Awkwardly she turned away.

"I'm not a big fan of snow. I've been in New York for Fashion Week before when it's been snowing....ick. It's wet, cold, and it ruins your clothing." she said. "But I do agree that's it's pretty to look at...until it turns brown from too many people stepping on it." she added with a giggle.
"I gets pretty cold in England in the winter months, but it doesn't usually go below freezing. It's relatively mild. We don't get a lot of snow there." she replied as she continued unpacking her first bag. She was nearly finished. Her eyes glanced to the dresser and closet where her things were supposed to go. They would never fit. Ugh.
"So do you think that they'd be terribly angry if I brought my interior decorator in here?" she asked Daphne's opinion. "I know I'm a spoiled, but this is a bit ridiculous, don't you think?" she said, looking around at the blan room.

For whatever reason Penny Dalton was entering the dormitory (a kin her luggage) on December 30th- it must have been an epic one. Epic in the world of Penny Dalton, that is. It was seldom she returned GAA January 5th, for her to come a few days early was colossal. This year her mother had even taken the time out to write the school a letter about how she would be returning the 15th, since it was so many days after the break had ended.
“Merry Christmas everyone,” she said a duffel bag in one hand, and the handle of a roll-on bag in the other. They were, needless to say, a bit gaudy and never the less ostentatious. Naturally matching, they were a pastel yellow, and sprinkled with cherries a blinding shade of red. Of course to top it off, they were trimmed with a green that you would swear was tinsel it had such a metallic appearance. “Well, belated Christmas,” it was clear that her bags were heavy, as her tone had just the slightest air of struggle in it. Though, alas, she found her bed quickly, dropping her duffel bag upon it.
Her outfit was just as flamboyant her luggage, though the only visible thing at the moment was her coat and shoes. Though the coat’s color alone was able to over compensate for what you couldn’t see. Cherry red…just as lurid as the shade of red on her baggage. Her shoes were a pair of suede Mary Janes that she found herself wearing all too often, but her outfits were so juvenile she was able to get away with it.

At the sound of the cheery holiday greeting to her back, Analiese cringed. She was not generally a bubbly, happy person and she was quite sure that, judging by her words, this new girl was. She inhaled deeply, plastering a plastic smile on her face, ouch. She turned around slowly to see the explosion of color in the otherwise dull dorm.
"Merry Christmas." she said weakly, trying not to throw up from the shock of the female that was standing in front of her. Was she mistaken? She had thought that this dorm was for girls 14 to 17, not girls in the 2nd grade. Oh God, this was going to be a long year, she could tell already.
Keeping her plastic smile across her face, she awaited to new girl's next word. Analiese could hardly stand there quietly, let alone say something to this unfamiliar creature. She had been taught that a "lady" should always be understated. Obviously, this girl didn't have the same ettiquette lessons as she had been through.

The swelling lump of tension in her throat began to ease as she spotted the other girl entering the dorm. Despite her unusually bright getup, she seemed oddly down-to-earth and Daphne could feel the awkwardness of the previous minutes fading away.
She reached out her hand to the girl, "Hi, I'm Daphne Reese. Happy Holidays to you." She concluded that the girl was obviously Christian but "Happy Holidays" seemed more comfortable to say. "Are you new to GAA?" Daphne's hazel optics met the girl's with a hint of friendliness. She wasn't desperate for a friend whatsoever, but she had definitely blown it with Analiese.

Oriana entered the dorm room, shortly after the pervious girls. She eyed the beds that were already taken and placed her bag on one that had not been claimed yet. Her mother was right, she should have left last week so she would have had first dibs of the beds. Oriana quickly shrugged it off, she didn't really care that much anyways.
She was dressed casually, in a well worn grey sweat suit, and her long hair was pulled into a pony tail, dangling down to her hips. She smiled at the girls already present in the room, and nodded her head in greeting. Judging by the bags and the introductions going on, she was not the only one to arrive recently. Most of the other girls hadn't finished packing yet. Oriana turned her attention back to her unpacking, figuring that she could join in the conversation while she prepared her living environment. While she pulled her meager assortment from clothing from her bag, she softly sang a song
"Dh'oladh sinn is dhannsaidh sinn Air oidhche banais Mor-a-Cheannaich Dh'oladh sinn is dhannsaidh sinn Air oihche banais Moraig"
She stopped herself and blushed, realising she had just burst into song in front of a bunch of girls, "Sorry, I've had it stuck in my head all day" She explained.

At the entrance of the newest female in the room Analiese grew cautious again. Then when the girl had burst into song... Analiese turned to Daphne, whom she had officially deemed to be the girl that would annoy her the least in the group, and gave her a look that said What in the world is that girl doing?
Whats had she gotten herself into? She already longed to return to her former boarding school in England with all of her friends, or to Buckingham Palace where she was waited on hand and foot, or to her family's vacation home in the Hamptons where she could be amongst "WASP" whom she found to be wuite good company. When she had thought about Glacéau Arts Academy For Girls in the past, she thought of upper class, high end, lady-like girls with good manners, good taste, and good fortunes that they inherited from their wealthy "old money" families. Reality check. This was NOT England.

At the sight of yet another new boarder, Daphne could feel herself beginning to relax even more. It seemed her complete faux pas in making a joke about Analiese and her Britishness- She questioned if Britishness was even a word- had gone almost unnoticed after the other girls had entered and made strange impressions. Relief flooded through her as she realized that she might not be the oddball at the high-class school after all.
She felt someone's eyes melting into her and raising her own eyes, she met Analiese's surprised gaze. Daphne read the look at once and bit her lip, turning back to her suitcase after exchanging a small smile at Oriana.

Penny's reaction to the girl singing in Gaelic was priceless. Priceless might be a stretch, but it certainly was an interesting thing to have your eyes meet.
It was like it had taken her a few seconds too long for it to register, and she was trying to find some sort of meaning in it. ...Like she had assumed it was some sort of jumbled 'hello', or 'how are you', and she was getting ready to respond. And thank fully, it did register that it was a song, and in Gaelic.
"I've been here for a while," she replied after a few moments, making it clear that the girls singing was a distraction.

Analiese tensed her muscles in an attempt not to burst out laughing at the newest girl in the room. Ok, so she was stuck in a room with Happy Sunshine 3rd Grader and Freaky McGaelic. What a joy. She picked up one of her smaller bags and carried it to the other side of the room, setting it down on a rather small desk and pretending to be overly interested with whatever was inside.
"Hey Daphne, I want to show you something...over here." she said to the seemingly only normal one of the bunch. Hawaii...people can't be that terrible, can they? Either way, it was certainly better then being choked to death with happiness and put under some voodoo foreign spell song...or whatever the hell that had been. Hopefully, she could get Daphne to come over so she could subtly see what she thought of the other two. Hopefully was the key word there.

"Have you? Well, I might just have to steal you for a tour." Oriana smiled sweetly and straightened up, looking toward the other girls, "My name is Oriana." She looked at the other girls momentarily before pulling out yet another article of clothing and placing it in her dresser. She sensed that some of the girls didn't like her already, not that she really cared. Being unique was nothing that Oriana was ashamed of, in fact it was something she had always been taught to embrace.

Daphne gave a quick wave to everyone in the room and, without a delay, hastily walked to Analiese, trying not to draw any more attention to herself. She was somewhat eager to be accepted by the Analiese who was by for the classiest one of the group. On her way to Analiese's side, she tidied herself up, giving a quick shake of the hair. The last thing on her mind was to give anyone an impression that she was snobby and rich as she herself had to raise some serious cash just to pay this year's tuition, but let's face the facts. She was just invited to join a "popular". Life was perking up at the GAA. C'mon. Could you resist that invite?

Oriana smirked slightly as the two girls separated themselves from the rest. It was pretty obvious that they were going to be the 'popular' ones. All that means is that they run around thinking that they are better then everyone else, while everyone else secretly despises them. Well, if they felt that they were so good that they had to alienate themselves from the others, so be it. Oriana put on her jacket and announced to the room, not really it anyone in particular, "I'm going to go explore the grounds, if anyone cares to join me I'll be outside." Her voice was sweet, showing that she genuinely wouldn't mind if anyone joined her. She exited the room while humming a song.

At that moment, Khassendra Jude Skyler made her grand entrance into Girls Dorm C. She stood, poised, hands on hips and cowgirl boots far apart with her weight spread evenly between them. Looking around, she noticed a jumble of girls, two separated from the rest. They seemed to be ready to go somewhere and Jude was relieved that she'd caught them in time. Suddenly she pretended to be shocked, covering her pearly teeth with her manicured nails and widening her almond colored eyes. Ohmagosh, this isn't the student lounge!
She giggled after a short time of silence. Figuring she owed them all a bit more of an explanation she added, I wanted some ice for my cocktails I'm making. Great job in blending in, Jude, She thought to herself sarcastically. After all, her main priority was to escape the Hollywood glamour and lead a normal life. But it seemed her high maintenance way of life was practically embedded into her brain. She desperately hoped nobody recognized her for who she was. She was a Skyler- a total celeb. She hit platinum on her first solo record at age nine! Changing the sub, she stated, If I can find the ice machine, you all can come back over to my dorm for some daiquiris!

A light smile creeped over Analiese's flawless features as she watched Daphne follow her requests. "Sorry, I have had to get away from those two, you know what I mean?"" Analiese whispered to Daphne in a vrey soft voice as she pretended to be showing her something in her small luggage bag.
Just as she was about to continue on with her conversation and seemingly obnoxious, loud blonde female burst into their dorm. Hadn't anyone taught her any manners? Obviously not. She recognized her from a few events she had attended. Perhaps she had even seen her in the audience of one of her fashion shows. She was a young Tara Reid in the making. How lovely. As much as she would've liked to have snubbed this extroverted American (well, she didn't know if this female was an American, but her mannerisms screamed America.) she much rather knocked back a bit of good liquor then spend another moment in the company of the two females whom she had not invited to the other side of the room. Hopefull they wouldn't take the iniative to join as well.
"What do you think Daphne, would you like to get a drink or two?" she consulted her new friend. Always be courteous; her mother's ettiquette lessons replayed in her mind. She had learned long ago, from the fashion icons that she worked and acquianted herself with on the regular basis, that it is only important to be truly courteous to those you wish to keep as friends. In this case, Analiese was geniunely hoping that Daphne would join her. Her impresson of the Hawaiian female had done a complete turn around in less then 5 miuntes.

She didn't know quite what she was getting herself into when agreeing to join the poster girl for rich girls everywhere and Analiese to cocktails back in her room, but right now, Daphne could feel her excitement level rising. She was strangely eager to please, to fit in with her. Gratefully smiling at Analiese and then at the new girl, she nodded and replied, Count us in! Looking around the room, she gained the courage to say Anybody coming with? Biting her lip after the brief silence that followed, Daphne exchanged glances with Analiese.

"Come now, let's go." Analiese said aloud, but the statement was mostly directed to Daphne. She hoped they could leave the dorm before either of the other girls had time to reply. Analiese grabbed her Hermes Birken bag from out of her piles of luggage and her puppy's leash. She couldn't very well leave little Roxton behind, now could she? Of course not. That would be cruel. Plus, everyone loved Roxton. He was absolutely adorable.
She walked to the exit of the dorm where Ms. Skyler was standing. She couldn't believe she was going to perhaps befriend this female. Well, it was the best choice she had at the moment. "Shall we be off?" she announced more so then asked.

Lilia had got a bit carried away looking at the photographs on the walls of the corridors, especially the ones with famous dancers, and had found herself alone; Jude had obviously gone on ahead. She ran a hand through her hair, looked around and turned down a corridor, not knowing if that was where Jude had gone or not.
She pushed open a door to find herself in what seemed like another dorm room. "Oh, um, sorry," she said, her dark eyes glancing round at the girls assembled. Suddenly, she felt quite shy. She blushed, looking at her feet. She felt so different to all these people. They oozed confidence, she could feel it, and they were all so sophisticated, when she was standing there looking bohemian and very obviously Russian.
"I no think this is where ice is," she said, moving over to Jude and standing on tiptoe to talk to the other girl. Her eyes darted the room again, and she caught sight of a dog on a lead. She looked up to the girl that was holding the other end. "That is your dog?" she asked softly, bending down to pet him.

Penny had been silent for several moments, and the truth of the matter was she had been because she was overwelmed. She was overwelmed by a lot of things, things at home, things at school. And at the same time, looking around at these girls...she was just as..underwelmed.
It was a paradox among the mind of a Dalton, how somebody could feel two emotions that were quite literally the opposite of one another at the same time. Ask a scholar though, and they may tell you differently. The Daltons had never been known for their shrewd minds, at least the Dalton women that is.
It was at the sound of drinks when she was snapped out of her trance, yet again. First it was the girl singing in Gaelic (she was probably a pagan. Who spoke Gaelic anymore? Wiccans. Mostly. Aside from those who dwelled in Gaeltacht..but this obviously wasn't Gaeltacht.), then it was the contemplation about the girl so bent on ettiquette when she barely had any manners herself (social courtesies are still courtesies. And, she had always learned that there are some places pets should not follow. Then again, what did she know? Her mother worked at QVC.), and now it was the girl speaking of making cocktails.
What characters! What characters these people were. She was surprised she hadn't met them before, then again a few of them appeared to be new students. If they weren't so...mind boggling to the mind of this milk-drinking, country western loving, Mormon in colors far too bright for her own good she might have taken the liberty to give them all proper greetings. Say hello, offer a tour.
Except for that girl who was making cocktails, who she knew nothing about. She wouldn't bother trying to become too friendly with her...she met her moral standards about as much as the movie Grease. (Sad in retrospect, but standards are a thing everyone should possess.)
"Well," she said, breaking her brief silence, "I'm going to go head down to the music room."
She would have given them a speech on how drinking alcohol in school was so wrong..so very wrong a MYRIAD of different levels. But she opted against giving them a lecture that could be a public service announcement.
"I'm sorry I couldn't stay long," she said, relocking her bags that she planned to leave on her bed for the time being.
"And I'm even more sorry that I never got a chance to introduce myself. But, the...music room awaits."
"Anyone is welcome to come, it'd probably give those who are new a chance to get a real feel of the school," she closed, with a smile so artificial it couldn't have been anything but feigned. She knew that no one would follow, but it was worth offering. Anything is worth offering, besides intercourse that is.
Soviets, underaged drinkers, aspiring English princesses...this was far from her Mormon ideal.
Not that she was one to judge, but such an ecclectic collection of people was unexpected. It was about as ecclectic as her sweater collection, that's for sure.

Yes, yes. Let's leave already! She was beginning to feel awkward as she could feel at least 3 pairs of eyes glued to her. And then it hit her. Cocktails! Oh dear God! The other boarders actually thought the drinks would be alcoholic! Slapping her palm to her forehead, Jude sighed heavily. The daiquiris are virgin! She exclaimed. I didn't mean to give you all a scare! They're totally non-alcoholic. Now, self-pity overcame her. Two minutes at the GAA and she'd already been labeled as a careless underage drinker. Now is anybody else interested in accompanying us? She concluded a few moments after that she wasn't going to win this bunch of girls over. In fact, most of them were trying to find some excuse to escape. Positive side: At least they don't recognize your celebrity status! Jude thought.
Analiese was now coming toward her and Jude began to head out, tossing her hair casually despite this near fiasco. C'mon, hun, she motioned to Lilia, who was obviously lost in the middle of this. Are you coming too? This time her attention was toward Daphne.

Utterly relieved that Jude's drinks were not going to get them all drunk on their first day at the GAA, Daphne gladly agreed and followed Analiese to Jude. Yea, let's go. I'm really thirsty for something fruity! The thought of an icy strawberry drink sliding down her throat made her sigh in a heavenly state. Realizing her rather loud sigh, Daphne closed her mouth, blushing with embarrassment.

"Yes, this is Roxton." Analiese said to Lilia. She recognized her from the danec studio earlier. "Be careful. It's not uncommon for him to bite strangers." she added nonchalantly. She slipped through the dorm room door, roxton trailing close by her as she waiting for Daphne, Jude, and Lilia. Personally, she didn't knw the way to their dorm room, but she didn't want to wait along there any longer in case any other inexpected visitors decided to join their new drinking group.
Analiese was slightly disappointed to hear that their drinks were to be non-alcoholic. She was never particularly fond of "fruity" drink with alcohol and she assumed that with out the twinge of liquor they'd be even worse. Oh well, maybe she could eat an ice cube or something?
"Are you girls coming?" she asked as she turned back to look to see if they had budged from their previous standing areas. She was going to need someone else to lead the way to Lilia and Jude's dorm.
